Gianni Ricci founded Torneria Automatica Gianni Ricci srl inside his home garage working through a single semi-automatic lathe. He started this venture alone and by working day and night he was able to improve his turning technique.

In this year, part of today’s factory was acquired at 77 Via Marzabotto in Funo di Argelato (Bo), which was then spread over an area of 1200m². Given the quality of the processing carried out by Torneria Automatica (Automatic Turning) Gianni Ricci srl, the volumes of the part batches requested by clients made it necessary to expand the workshop by equipping it with new lathes and to start training a real team of experts in component processing.

The company was carving out its own space in the national precision engineering scene. Through recognition of the top quality of the workmanship, numerous clients became increasingly loyal to this brand. In 1990, the lathe shop had 12 employees divided between the administrative and workshop parts.

2017 – Alessandro Lupi

The baton, after 46 years of working, passed from the hands of Gianni Ricci to the hands of Alessandro Lupi, a mechanical engineer and MBA master with more than 20 years of experience as a manager in leading mechanical companies.
In a short time, the new CEO has been able to put himself at the helm of the historic Bolognese turnery, becoming the main reference point for the entire team.
The new CEO’s goal is to take the quality of 100% made in italy products around the world.

The year 2019 has been full of news for our lathe shop.
The machinery fleet was completely renewed through the transformation to Industry 4.0 with the integration of all machines into the new ERP (enterprise resource planning) system, providing its team with state-of-the-art machinery capable of performing even very complex machining and optimizing production times.


2020 – Primamec

The transformation that took place has also involved its historical name, which has gradually become less and less representative of this important corporate evolution.
Primamec wants to tell all the innovation that has been brought to the company since 2017, with the aim of offering customers an increasingly complete, reliable and technologically advanced service for the production of precision components and the development of new projects.
Primamec today has: 14 Fixed Jigs, 11 Moving Jigs, 4 Multi-spindles, 10 Resumes and 1 IFP Washing Plant.
